This is fast becoming one of those profile pages which looks like someone has been so keen to put everything in it that graphics just spew up everywhere and it takes ages to load. All it's missing is pictures of angels and glitter graphics.

Bear with me here, as I attempt to avoid sounding like a new age twit. A while ago this house we are living in had a distinctly foreboding atmosphere, as though there was something here that wanted to make us to feel angry and depressed. I felt as though there were 'other things' here, what, I'm not quite sure, but the house sure did feel like it was inundated with other 'entities' for want of a better word.

Now, either I've come to my senses, or something's changed, but the house doesn't seem like the presence is here any more. The house feels 'clear'. We've been under heaps of stress, and there's been a general malaise about everyone here, but it's more a 'phew - that was a bad time' exhaustion, different to what it was before. Before, it felt as though there was some kind of dark presence willing us to be angry and depressed. It's as if we manage to beat it, and it goes away to plan it's next 'attack'. Maybe it's just my zoloft working lol. I dunno, but the atmosphere here is so different.

Number one reason is because I think Tracey is a really boring 70s kind of name. I hated it when I was younger because I was called 'Cyclone Tracey' (after the cyclone which levelled Darwin, Australia on Christmas Eve - I think in 1974), and 'Dick Tracey', (after the detective character of course, but in my young mind the part I really objected to was 'Dick' lol).

I'm trying to get serious with my photography business, and Tracey Goodwin Photography' just hasn't got the...I dunno...'ring' to it that 'Lucy Goodwin Photography' has. I think it sounds somewhat classier, but then again, I could just be talking a load of codswallop.

Thirdly, I've had a terrible few years, and changing my name is somehow symbolic of throwing off all the old crap and starting afresh. Changing your name in Australia is kind of frowned upon - it seems only pretentious people do it, and I doubt my family will ever call me anything but Tracey. But I'm going to change it legally, as I need to change my bank accounts, driver's licence and passport into my married name anyway, so I may as well do the lot in a name I really like.
