I think they were one of the best marketing ideas, particularly for tourists. You can buy Freshly Caught Fairy Folk which are little clay figures of different types of mythical fairy creatures, in a jar, with a piece of calico on the top for a lid. They usually have a little tag with info about the fairy you have in your jar, where they come from, what they apparently get up to etc.
I bought this one years ago: ![]() ![]() These poor little buggers look terrified lol: ![]() ![]() And here's one escaping! ![]() |

I'm interested to hear about any supposed proof of Fairy Folk. They're existant all throughout history and mythos so they must have stemmed from somewhere.

I was reminded of a fabulous artist on another forum when somebody posted a video of the works of Joseph Carsentino.
He is a self taught photographer who is a well known fantasy and faerie artist. Click here to hit his website. Here is a video of his work... Time of the Faeries His Faerie Chronicles site is such a beautiful place...=) He is careful about copyright, so I'm only going to show one as an example...from his book "Time Of The Faeries." "Untitled" ![]()

G'day to all - haven't been around the place for a while but here I am
Anyone who knows me a little, knows I am a fan of the Fae.... Most of my avatars are Fairies. My favourite thing so far - which was discussed here on flipside a while ago - was the mummified fairy sold on Ebay. I love that.. someone had gone to the trouble of making this little mummified body, complete with teeth and hair and made up a story about taking it to the local police and even took photos of this thing in a police 'evidence' bag LOL. Is your surname Elvin, Elven or Elvish? If so, it is said that you are decendents of Fae and other mystical creatures. |

I thought I saw a fairy when I was about 10. I was lying in bed at night, although the light was on. I heard something fluttering against the window. I looked up and there was something that was about three or four inches tall, with wings, fluttering against the window. I didn't think it was a moth, but it was definately something that usually doesn't flutter against a window, and I brushed it off as maybe something which had blown and was held by the wind there for a few moments.

Hmm, I really like the Notion of the Fae from Pan's Labyrinth.
They can morph from between stick-insect things to little miniature humanoids. |

This is a picture I took of the Fairy Glen in the Black Isle Scotland....it's where the 'last of the fairies' are reputed to have marched on their way back to their homelands....

That is so Beautiful. Scotland is such a pretty place. I would love to travel there sometime. Once I finish my degree I'm thinking of teaching over in the UK, most jobs going near London. Are plane tickets from London to Scotland expensive?
