Ancient Extraterrestrial Artwork

People have been creating art for thousands of years -which looks very much like today's depictions of UFOs. I find that quite interesting. Do people nowadays create the art taken from these images?

From Kiev. It dates to ca. 4,000 BC.

That 5,000 year old australian one, what's it carved/painted with? looks incredably new for something so old.

Good question, Xeno -the colors are quite brilliant, aren't they?
Are these simply an archetype which humankind has been fascinated with for as long as we have had conscious thought?

I can't figure out how to post pics right now, sorry, but here are links to three paintings I see often. They're seen on UFO TV shows or in books, on net pages, when people talk about UFOs as having been around a long time.

The "mary" in prayer with the disc off to the right of her and the little man in the ship are the two I have seen the most often..I'll bet they will both look familiar to many of you.

If anyone knows who the artists were, please post and let me know. I had thought the man in the ship was a Giotto, but I don't think so, because I searched for Giottos and this one wasn't among them.

Your first pic:

"This painting is called "The Madonna with Saint Giovannino". It was painted in the 15th century by Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449-1494) and hangs as part of the Loeser collection in the Palazzo Vecchio. Above Mary's right shoulder is a disk shaped object. Below is a blow up of this section and a man and his dog can clearly be seen looking up at the object."

Regarding your second image:

"The painting above was done by Carlo Crivelli (1430-1495) and is called "The Annunciation with Saint Emidius" (1486) and hangs in the National Gallery, London. A disk shaped object is shining a pencil beam of light down into Mary's crown chakra. A blow up of the object is next to the painting."

It's actually a two part of drawing..cool, huh?


"UFO as if in pursuit - as he flies across the sky in what is clearly a space ship. The leading craft is decorated with two twinkling stars, one reminiscent of national insignia on modern aircraft. This paintng hangs above the altar at the Visoki Decani Monastary in Kosovo, Yugoslavia."

Yay, thanks Dani. Good work. Can you find a date on the Yugoslavian altar paintings? They look like they are from the medieval-to-renaissance bridge period, 1300s maybe?

I feel all of these are indeed "saucer-looking" to me, but I also feel they are completely explainable as fairly traditional depictions of holy spirit appearances. Lyda was looking at the Crivelli with me just now and we feel it's disc-looking, yes, but considering that day and time, it looks just as much to us today like a typical renaissance-time holy spirit cloud-thing. Same for the mary disc, though it looks more to me like a UFO disc that any of the others.

Speaking of the Holy Spirit..check this one out.

"The picture above depicts Jesus and Mary on what appear to be lenticular clouds. The painting is entitled "The Miracle of the Snow" and was painted by Masolino Da Panicale (1383-1440) and hangs at the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, Florence, Italy."

Ancient Vimanas Aircraft


We've all seen this one before -but wild how there is a helicopter, blimp, submarine and a glider all in one image.

I knew I'd find it..haha.
It's from the 1400's.
